For the past few years one of the cheapest 4K-ready media streaming boxes you could buy has been Walmart’s $20 Onn 4K. The company also offers a $50 model called the Onn 4K Pro that has more memory and storage, a faster USB port, and an Ethernet jack.
Now Walmart has introduced a mid-range version that sells for $30. The new Onn 4K Plus actually started to show up in stores earlier this year, but now it’s officially listed on the Walmart website as well.
While the new version costs just $10 more than the entry-level model, it actually has a couple of features that could arguably make this ostensibly mid-range device a better media streamer than the premium Onn 4K Pro.
For example, the Onn 4K Plus comes with a newer, faster processor that allows the system to score higher on synthetic benchmarks. It also ships with an Android 14-based operating system, while the other models are still running Android 12-based software.
That said, the Onn 4K Pro still has a few advantages: it has more memory and storage, an Ethernet jack, and a USB Type-A port.
Here’s a run-down of some key specs for the Onn 4K media streamer lineup, as of May 19, 2025:
